Time and again in my observations of the Indian Society, now at a very
close angle and my experience with its people has confirmed one point, that it
is indeed a society of contradictions filled with hypocrisy and double
standards.
Call me a vitriolic critic or a fanatic Non Conformist, i choose to take
a stand and put my point. There is something that is terribly wrong with the
people of Indian Society, which is now gradually on a Dysfunctional Route.
Accepting the reality has been very difficult for the Indian People. They
shun it and even walk away from it.
For people living their life in the world
of a Heavenly Utopia and make believe situations, for people who living in self delusion, reality and pragmatism can
never find a place either in their hearts or their minds.
And with this you find people who become disillusioned and disappointed,
gradually there is a ripple effect seen all over the Society rendering it on a
state of Dysfunction.
Some of the People or types of People whom I have come across have been
mentioned below:
People suffering from some sort of inferiority complex!!!! And those are
a plenty, inferiority complex because of their looks, height, complex,
physique, and intellect etc........ the list goes on and on, it never ends. A
look on their face and it is evident that the person is a victim of Inferiority
complex.
Couples trapped in wrong marriages, be it the husband or the wife. A
victim of the arranged marriage system (sometimes it can be a wrong love
marriage), the relationship has now reached a stalement, there is no
communication among the husband and wife, yet lives are being led.
The Divorced/Separated woman. Oh Dear!!!! Given the fact that they are still
considered as the outcasts of the Indian Society, but is it necessary to become
self victimized????? These women are bitter of all relations and good things in
life. Frustrations mount day by day making them mentally sick.
The divorced husband, another person who will never accept that he was
ever at fault, constantly blaming his spouse for everything that happened. Once
a divorce has happened the poor desperate man is on a lookout for the next life
partner, as if woman were available as easily as burgers are available in
McDonalds. Filled with despair, this is another depressed man one comes across.
The Traditional Elders- You will find them everywhere, in your house, in
your society, in your neighbourhood, in the parks, in social functions and god
knows where. These people have never learnt to adapt to the changing times and
ways of the society, they look upon youngsters with disgust, criticizing the
present times. These people think that just because they have the years of
experience, they can do moral policing and advice giving; their remarks at
times can be so hurtful that it can drive the listener insane.
The Bored and good for nothing
Housewives errrr Homemakers: Another category which forms the list. Yes, being
a home maker is a challenge and no easy task. But does that mean that they
should stay ignorant of the changing dynamics of the outside world. With nor
productive work to do , many of them watch useless soaps and turn gossip
queens. Who is going where, who is working, who is having an affair, who is
going to get married................ and more..................... They have so
much information about the neighbourhood that even the local police or intelligence
services will not have.
Over Ambitious Parents- Another clan one gets to see, having never lived
their lives, they tend to live their lives through their children, pushing them
to extreme ends, be it studies of extracurricular activities. These are the
people who compare their children with others and try to put the parents of
other children down, just to derive some sort of wicked satisfaction, not
realizing that they are themselves jeopardizing the lives of their children.
The Frustrated Young Man- This is a species of its own kind and will
continue to grow over the years. Youngsters anywhere between 20 to 35, these
men are mentally, physically ,psychologically, socially and well hmmmmmmm
sexually depressed. REASON!!!!!! Plenty, some don’ enjoy their work, some their
work environment, some have been terrible professional failures, some had
disastrous personal failures, some are sexually frustrated because they have
not lost their virginity ( no one can help you if you are a looser), some are
not getting married ( Girls have openly started rejecting guys even if they are
from IIT’s or IIM’s, you can imagine how much can that hurt a male ego) and the
rest of them have never learnt to live and enjoy their lives, so they are here
on this list.
The Frustrated Young Woman- This species is smaller in number but is does
exist, and many of they have pretty much the same problem what the frustrated
young men have the common problem that singularly unites this group is: they
are not getting married. Why?????? Seriously, I don’t know. Sometimes something
just don’t click. However the Indian Society is not lenient with woman who have
crossed the fertile marriageable age set by it for girls .They are subjected to
all types of sweet criticisms and comments. Making appearance at any social
function becomes difficult for them. So I hope you understand their condition.
The Sexually Frustrated Man/Woman- They are plenty in number and all
suffer from one problem, they have weakness in between their thighs, their
carnal desires can never be satiated, their thirst for sex is the same as the
thirst of a Bedouin wandering in a hot desert. No wonder they are caught with
their pant or whatever (referring the clothes which woman were) down. It can be
in the office, car, and bathroom or on the video tape. The present cases of
politicians tapes of sex and sleaze caught on camera is a proof of it. I can’t
say why this problem exists??But lack of sexual satisfaction is a precursor of
it. I know of a man who was on an extreme end of sexual frustration, when
probed deeper into his married life, i realized that he had problems with his
wife and his wife denied him sex a form
of punishment, every other word coming out of his mouth was sex and F!@#!!!!
The list is endless and there are more to be added based on my future
experiences and interactions with people.
